I get sent a lot of great digital work every day, all of which I get to quickly scan before reviewing in more detail later each night. For some reason I rarely get sent great email marketing campaigns to showcase, but this EDM (created by Pmweb) to promote the leading waterpark in Brazil has to be one of the most engaging emails I’ve ever opened!

While I’m not sure this concept is email friendly, it does however completely engage you while doing a decent job of creating a virtual experience from within a standard email. A very interesting idea. What do you all think of the EDM concept? If you take away the load times, it might just have worked! (thanks Brenner)

Help us share the digital goodness!

Pretty cool concept, and the execution is great. Visually its very well done. I’d hate to be the one climbing those stairs though!

Ha! Surly they have a lift?!
Brenner, if you can, please post up the blast stats? Very interested to see the response.

      That is brilliant.

      sure, Aden :-)

Very cool, like the idea and the execution is great, really brings movement to a static space. The load is an issue but if it loads in the background before viewing then great.

I saw … maybe in 2008 on the One SHOW website … an e-mail campaign very similar (about a new car model) in which during the scroll the speed (numbers) were increased with the car promoted at the end of the page…i’m trying to find it and post on another comment!

    7. Aden Hepburn Says:

@Luca, please do find it, I’m sure everyone would love to see it.

@Ross, agree on the load, I hope they did some serious optimising of the image, I saved it out at 60% and it was still 1mb!

@brenner, did you get any click-thru stats for us?

    8. Scott Hardigree Says:

Great concept, but a truly horrible execution. As you know, Gmail will truncate a message after 100K, this image is 10X that.

    9. Nate Lee Says:

I don’t think so. I can’t imagine it compelling anyone to want to go to the park. Besides, we all know what a waterslide looks like, and some of us know what it feels like (which this didn’t really convey). If this is taller than the other guys’ slides, then say so, or, better yet, show it.

Now that I think about it, it borders on moronic.

Really nice idea and great realization !

      Congratz to the creator ;)

Sweet. Love it. Works perfectly to tell the story.

    12. JC Says:

      ‘Have you imagine it live’?

      What?

Horrible typography and font usage, but an ok idea I suppose.

I would still delete it before reaching the guts of the message, so its a fail for me.

      Fantastic email. Well developed.
