The next instalment form Netflix’s “Make It” creative platform for “Makers” has just hit just in time for the holiday season, with these pretty cool “Auto-Pause” Netflix Socks. (Checkout the Netflix & Chill Button too)

The Netflix Auto-Pause Sock sleep detection system os based on a popular method called actigraphy. Basically, an accelerometer detects when you’ve stopped moving for a prolonged period of time and triggers a signal to your TV that pauses Netflix. So when it detects that you’ve dozed off, an LED light in the cuff of the sock flashes red, warning that the pause signal is about to be sent to your TV. Any motion will stop it from firing immediately.

The system is pretty sensitive too, detecting when you’re just sitting still, intensely watching Netflix vs when you’ve actually fallen asleep. Very cool. Check out how to make them here.
