Profero NYC has just launched a cool branded social app for Lufthansa Airlines that allows anyone, flying any airline, on any flight around the world to automatically post precise updates to their Facebook & Twitter followers about their departure, in flight locations, altitudes, arrival details and more while they are still in the air. Sure it’s probably more for the possessed social media addict, but would also be pretty useful for frequent travellers or holiday makers who want/need to keep their contacts in the loop every step of the way. Check it out here.

Yet another cool idea let down by the terrible user interface.
Did they do any user testing on this thing at all?
Tried scrolling that EPIC drown down list for Qantas? I gave up.

This project has a good initiative, surely a lot of money on the table from th Lufthansa company, but the interface is unusable … and their marketing is down. They should review all the strategy.

Tried it, doesn’t work for most European airports. Very clever idea of Lufthansa though to beat all the competition to get a unique app.
Pitty it doesn’t work.

Yeah I agree. Huge potential, just let down a little by the interface. There is a bit of work ahead to make the app take advantage of the great core idea, hopefully it can be tweaked!

I noticed that you have to only insert date and flight number. If you add city it gives an error.
In that airline list you can type e.g. Q and it jumps to airlines starting with Q, so you do not need to scroll down aaall the way.
I’m looking forward my next flight what happens. Nice applications and cheer for LH allowing other airlines too in the system.
