Telstra in Australia has launched a brave new campaign called Mum 2.0 – the digital makeover. It comes on the back of research where it found over 70% of Aussie mums use social networking platforms and tools to keep in touch with family.
So DDB Sydney came up with a campaign that aims to give mums a few extra tips about ettiquette on sites like Facebook. The campaign launched with 6 humorous webisodes with tips on adding friends right through to joining groups and securing your privacy.
The campaign looks to be aimed at both mum’s and their kids, hopefully to keep both happy while connected online. It’s a great (but bold) move by Telstra and the webisodes are pretty good, but I think it probably needs to go into a little more depth with the videos or by creating actual documented online tutorials to put the icing on the cake.
It’s great to see someone jumping in. Click here to check out the campaign website. Telstra are also manning a Facebook fan page which is starting to get a little traction, and it will be interesting to see what type of conversation goes on in there!
