Firstly, my sincere apologies, never would I have thought that Miley Cyrus would grace a Digital Buzz page, and let me predict it will probably be the first and last time! However, I’ve good reason to post this YouTube video, lately, I’ve started to notice all kinds of interesting commercial applications of YouTube Annotations, and this video, is a pretty good example of how the music industry has started to leverage YouTube as a campaign landing page and not just for releasing video clips.

The new Miley Cyrus album is being promoted with the campaign driving people to this YouTube  page where the annotations allow users to sample some of the upcoming tracks and get access to the featured music video. I expect we’ll start to see this kind of annotation work on lots of new music videos (still the most viewed video content online apart from…), along with movies and potentially around commercials or product demonstrations and reviews… But what’s your take on this kind of landing page? Are you planning something similar?

Help us share the digital goodness!

Nice I wonder why Youtube does not do more of this. Well one reason is it can be difficult to get hold of them. We had a big pitch for a global consumer electronics company and wanted to do a Youtube take over but I was never able to get hold of anybody from Youtube.
