I wrote in January 2009 about interactive movies in my blog. I think the idea is great, but I would add something more. A SMS voting system. This would make it more tempting for cinemas. Sorry, this was done 15 years ago in colleges across the globe in Interactive Design 101. Note that there are always only 2 choices allowed – it’s false to say the audience changes the story, they only direct the story along a series of pre-determined routes, picking which route at pre-established control points. It’s similar to old-school Role-Playing Games on consoles where you pick what path your character goes down.

Now if it actually created the movie in real-time (using 3-D rendered characters, etc.), then it would be an innovative idea.
