If you’ve ever wished you could start hitting the “Like” button for things in the real world, well… Now you can, courtesy of the “LikeBelt” from the guys at Deeplocal, who’ve created a prototype belt and android app, complete with all the instructions you’ll need to start making it happen.
If you can get past the ridiculously weird “thrusts” to trigger the like belt “likes” then you’ll probably find this very cool. “Likes” are triggered by RFID chips embedded in real-world items and read by NFC enabled Android phones. Via Mmmish on Tumblr. Check out the “LikeBelt” site here…

Like the idea but the motion he makes to “like” something looks… a little obscene. Also need to be a miniature badge version would be better. Not sure I want to walk around with a huge belt.
Would anyone ever, ever, ever wear this? NO: Therefore, it’s a stupid idea. What can come of this other than degrading NFC technology??

WHY? Why the hell haven’t they realized they are HUMPING everything? WHY?
Can’t they just use the belt on their hand?
A good concept gone really poor. EVEN if they were trying to be funny, they aren’t.
And more importantly, not everything in the world will have a ‘like’ symbol to scan. Unless you carry a placard yourself.
man i really hope this is a piss-take. i see the point but so very lame.

Seriously, I thought April Fools was a couple of weeks ago.
This is DEFINITELY a joke! I don’t think it’s strong enough to go particularly viral but it’s a cute idea (the irony I mean, not the belt).
