There’s an Evolution infographic or diagram for just about everything, but this might just be the first one I’ve seen on Digital Advertising dating back to 1987 and a Mac, of course… in 1990 Photoshop 1.0 launched exclusively for Mac, 1994 saw the QR code created in Japan, 1995 the WWW became real, 1997 was the start of blogging platforms, 2000 welcomed the launch of Friendster and 3 million users, 2003 was the year of Facebook, Linkedin and MySpace, 2005 was YouTube, 2006 was Twitter, 2007 we started seeing rich online advertising and mobile media placements, 2009 was the first expandable iPhone ad… 2010, 2011, 2012? The first SMS was sent in the UK in 1992, and said ‘Merry Xmas’
Not to mention where is the Animated GiF?
PLUS This is the problem I’ve always had with “Digital Advertising” most of these are software or execution based. NOTHING talks about the evolution of Digital IDEAS. Without IDEAS it’s just a medium.
Crikey, this infographic was done by someone who wasn’t around in the mid 90s! Otherwise Netscape, Compuserve, AOL and above all Yahoo! (much bigger news at the time than FB ever was) would be listed. And where is the IAB? Standards are a real part of online evolution
How come Google+ gets such a big mention! Hardly one of the great milestones of the digital era!

Apple introduced the Mac in 1984!
Apple introduced the Macintosh in… 1984. Have you not seen the broadcast commercial that introduced it?
no mosaic, netscape or even explorer? launch of adwords?
this info graphics contains errors and obvious ommission. World wide web did not arrive in 95 but rather in 93 and got popular with the launch of the first browser mosaic, which got no mention at all, nor did netscape etc… Also, goggle was launched in 98 and already had articles in PC mag describing how powerful their search results were. As someone mentionned before rightly, this must have been done by someone who clearly was not around in the 90′s!
