This is a great digital installation from the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney a few weeks ago. Overall I was pretty disappointed with the entire show, we didn’t really see any new cars released (they seem to save that for the European shows!) but there were a number of nice digital installations, and probably none better than this from Honda Australia in partnership with their agency DTDigital and Boffswanna.
Honda’s Interactive Dream Wall incorporated facial recognition software which extracted data from 6 specialised cameras in real time as the crowd was asked to smile to register a dream on the wall, with each smile helping to tell part of an animated story…
Fourteen 14 computers were used to process the data from the individual cameras and to seamlessly display all the animations on one large screen 5.5 x 2.1 meters and made up of 24, 107 cm plasmas! Overall they registered over 10,000 dreams on the wall over the event. I just wish we’d see more digital installations like this from brands in Australia.
