Google’s Empire Visualisation – Is It Evil?

This video is getting some hype since airing on Australia’s ABC1 last week. So I thought I’d post and clear up a few issues with the numbers and facts they are using! Firstly, it seems some of the numbers, like the 450,000 servers are years old (that was quoted back in 2006!) and the 1 billion web searches per day was surpassed years ago, with 2 billion per day the estimate way back in July 2009. The video is again testing Google’s “don’t be evil” commandment! But cool video!
