We haven’t posted a projection mapping event for a little while, so this timely piece from Gillette is perfect, combining a series of various projections onto buildings, walls and ultimately on water, to wish TEAM USA luck at the Olympics, just as the world finished watching the Opening Ceremony.
A spectacle of light and water featuring 60-foot holograms of Team USA athletes, the installation was created projected light displays on buildings throughout Boston culminating in a massive water show, powered by dozens of projectors and two massive screens of water vapor. Very cool.

Absolutely loved this. A tremendous display of how far outdoor projections have come. Anyone have an idea as to who actually executed this for Gillette? Would love to give them props.

Great stuff. nice fusion of electronic and real elements. What’s the music? Is it Delphic?
Viewed it again. It’s brilliant. Just a shame the marketing guys had to diminish the ending by trying to sell a razor blade. It would’ve been enough to just put the logo up.
Brilliant masterpiece that compels even through video; to be an in-person spectator must have been amazing. Seems this was brought together by Philadelphia-based Klip Collective (http://klip.tv/), with the water action brought by Mirage Water Works (http://www.miragewaterworks.com) and with assistance from Light Harvest (http://www.light-harvest.com/) and MVT (http://mojovideotech.com).
