This is the latest Earth Hour campaign for the March 27th event, and aims to raise awareness of the need to reduce the earths power consumption. For this, WWF teamed up with Hot Chip and The Viral Factory to create a stop motion animated video that is dynamically controlled by the light in your room and a webcam. And if you don’t have a web cam in your room, you can manually click the “light switch” and see what happens with the Google Annotations feature. Check out the experience.

Isn’t this just a tad too derivative of the movie made by Tomas Mankovsky that can be found at http://www.sorry-im-late.com?

    2. Jarod Willis Says:

Not when you actually interact with it–you’ll see that the particular execution of the light-to-dark switch seems to require a similar approach.

Peter, it does look very similar!
But I’m sure it’s not a rip, it’s quite unique in it’s overall creative direction (and stop motion is stop motion), perhaps they just used it for some inspiration?!
