Great post. I read about Baskin Robbin’s building a store locator application a little while ago. This take things one step further and allows the store to build traffic through non-traditional means that they may never had. If someone is doing a coffee run, I usually get a coffee “just because”, not because I neccessarily need a coffee!
I think the added functionality of keeping track of the user’s preferences gives a more personalized feel – something consumers want and enjoy.

Dunkin Donuts is starting to really push for integration across all their platforms, for both web and mobile. This is a great app that will set a good base for most retail brands of how Social can drive revenue.

That Dunkin is a really cools app that I think could have many other applications developed for other industries.
