In recent months we saw augmented reality (AR) based projects a lot, first Mini used this technology to create a truly interactive experience with a piece of magazine advertisement, following this a lot of brands used AR in their new campaigns. Today we have another example from Brazil, as Doritos launch a special edition for their Sweet Chili flavored chips and have used AR technology on each package of this new product.
Each package has the AR symbol which is activated on the new Doritos Sweet Chili website and gives freedom to the little 3D monster called ”Doritos Lover”. The characters will be a part of the user profiles in Orkut as an application with several options for interactivity. In my opinion its a clever way to use AR codes on product packages, I like it.
