No digital elements on this billboard installation, but it’s just as good, I promise! Warner Bros. Pictures Canada created a unique outdoor installation merging science with advertising to create some added hype around the new release “Contagion” where the name speaks for itself!
It’s a great take on a normally traditional space, and even though it’s not exactly digital, I think you’ll all appreciate the core idea behind this, and indeed, the execution looks fantastic! Via.
So what do you guys think? Great idea or a missed opportunity to do something more?

Nah, I think it was perfect the way it was. Sometimes simple (if you can call growing bacteria to raise awareness of your product simple) is better.
Wow… that’s… unneccessarily gross
Talk about creativity and taking it to the next level. The whole integrating science with design is a brilliant combo. We like this alot, and thanks for sharing.

Yeah now that shit sells cinema tickets, woo, it’s goddam amazing woo!

They created two huge petri dishes & treated them with bacteria & funghi. The pieces were then installed in a Toronto store window & the name of the film was unveiled over time as the bacteria developed. Gross but awesome. [...]
