Coca-Cola Columbia recently set out to promote their new online radio station Coke FM. So Coca-Cola took a popular local band and hosted a live convert on a stage that was suspended over 50m from the ground. To get the band down to ground level, the crowd had to download songs from the band’s latest album on the Coke FM mobile site. By downloading the songs on their mobile phones the audience helped to lower the band to the full stage.
And with over 50,000 downloads through Coke FM in just one hour, I’d say this is a pretty successful way to promote a digital radio station! What do you guys think of this one?

yep,
they got me to spend two minutes with their brand…
Very clever concept. But, I have to say it made me grimace. I get it, and it’s been very well executed and all. And, I’d love to say ‘fantastic’ and ‘what a great digital interactive experience for the audience’. But, I just have this negative attitude towards it. It’s the world’s biggest brand taking money off teenagers in Colombia.
It smacks of ‘corporate cool’ too – which was a hot-topic in our studio a couple of week ago! We’re not fans at D4
