There is nothing smart about this campaign at all. In fact it reeks of ignorance, and is down right awful!

It screams HIV hysteria. “You’re now in touch with an infected person!” What disgusting terminology to be using. I’m sure people living with HIV prefer to be called just that, not ‘infected people’

Then suggesting that if you’re “in touch” with an “infected person” in real life you’re somehow playing Russian Roulette. Fucking without condoms, of course you’re taking risks on many fronts, but “being in touch with” pleeze!

That campaign does nothing more that feed the ignorance, stigma and social discrimination against HIV Positive people, all be it a giggly young Asian girl and does nothing for HIV prevention, let alone condom sales which is their underlying motive.

It’s simply a cheap commercial stunt for a condom shop and not a campaign that would be supported by any health agency concerned with HIV/AIDS issues.

I love the idea of using this social medium for a sexual health message, although this particular commercial campaign will, I fear, do more harm than good!

With more intelligent language this could have been an awesome initiative. Perhaps a partnership with their local HIV Council would have helped :~]
