This is a great concept from a chocolate store in Denmark. The Anthon Berg Generous Store has introduced a new way to buy your chocolate gifts without the need for any cash, you simply pay with the promise of a good deed toward a person you care for.
This pop-up chocolate store, in the center of Copenhagen, opened last month to encourage people to gift their loved ones with chocolate. The chocolate boxes had a range of different ‘price’ options so that people could pick a box according to the good deed they were willing to do. Including ‘Serve breakfast in bed to your loved one’ and ‘A week where you don’t lie to your father’.
Instead of a cash register the store uses iPads where people can log in to Facebook and post their promises to the profiles of both the giver and receiver of the generous deed. What a great way to spread a positive brand message throughout people’s social networks.
Love it. Social as a currency… Wonder how long it will take to become more mainstream instead of promotional?
Great campaign that hits the heart in all the right ways. Further enhancement could have been to allow individuals to come up with their own pledges to make it really personalised and ownable.
