In January I posted about one of the first buildings to use individual LED’s to create a digital billboard, it was called the Rundle Lantern in Adelaide, Australia. It used about 1,000 big LED’s to great effect. But this takes the cake, it’s the Bayer Headquarters in Germany, wrapped in 5.6 million LED’s covering the entire 17,500 square meter building!

It created a 3D animated LED billboard that could be seen for miles from any direction! Wow.

Help us share the digital goodness!

Great marketing but could backfire given all the attention the environment is getting and what a waste of energy this is. Marketers are going to have to address this balancing act as go forward.

LED’s are remarkably energy efficient, this type of lighting FX will become common place worldwide. Nice work, who was responsible for this installation?

efficient they may be but ‘…5.6 million LED?s’ has got to have an impact? even tho it looks good, they should be aware of the bigger picture.
