2009 AIMIA Awards Finalists Revealed

AIMIA has released its awards shortlist for 2009. In what is sure to be one the most competitive AIMIA awards in a long time! One of the most contested categories for the Australian Interactive Media Industry Awards is that of best advertising/marketing. Four of the finalists – BMF (Project 696), Euro RSCG (Sony), GPY&R Brands (Save Your Sensible) and Rivet Australia (Tree People) come from traditional agency backgrounds, with digital house Soap Creative (Jumper) the one exception.

2009 AIMIA Awards jury chairman Paul McCarthy said there had been a record number of entries. He said: ?The finalists showcase ground-breaking new work in online advertising, education, mobile and entertainment, plus a spectrum of other innovative digital media projects from over 50 leading organisations.”

The event takes place in Sydney on March 13. The full list of finalists can be viewed in here.

    You mention that SOAP Creative are the only finalists coming from a non-agency background. Actually Wellington digital studio Resn are also from a non-agency background and were finalists in 3 categories. They went on to win the Best Enterprise award for http://www.resn.co.nz. Thankfully little companies can still win awards in the battlegrounds of empires :)
